The Amity.
The Amity arrived at what is now Redcliffe in September 1824 with supplies, soldiers and convicts. Not something to celebrate for the local indigenous people, but it was the starting point for the Moreton Bay European era.


The Artemisia, which gave us our Queen.
The Artemisia was the first immigrant ship to arrive directly at Moreton Bay. More importantly, it gave Brisbane the Queen of the Artemisia.



Alfred Allwood, to whom reform was a dirty word.
Alfred Allwood. In the 1860s, Alfred took up bushranging with a will, but not well enough to avoid capture. He broke out of Brisbane Gaol and feigned insanity for a few months at Woogaroo.

All Saints – plagued by larrikins.
All Saints Anglican Church Wickham Terrace. A beautiful heritage church that survived time, dwindling attendance, and a campaign of terror by larrikins in the 1870s.
